Caylem vs SaaS Pegasus for South African software teams
For a South African software house, an existing Python team is a strong reason to consider SaaS Pegasus. Caylem suits a team deliberately choosing Next.js, Clerk and Convex. Local source pricing is useful, but it should not override architecture, payment fit or handover requirements.

A language and delivery choice before a price choice
SaaS Pegasus supplies a configurable Django application foundation. Paid editions include team and Stripe subscription features. Its project-license model is different from buying an MIT-licensed release of Caylem.
Caylem supplies this source-store application, including its international and South African frontends, shared backend and reusable packages. You can prototype without the connected services, or adapt the working accounts and purchase flow. The catalog provides a configured ZAR price for the selected release.

Validate the seller entity before choosing Stripe code
Stripe’s South African availability points to its extended network. Paystack describes a separate account, so a ready-made Stripe integration does not become a local Paystack integration. A team with an eligible Stripe entity has a different starting position from a newly formed South African business.
Polar lists South Africa for payouts, which makes Caylem’s existing integration a route to assess. Approval and product eligibility still apply. Caylem does not include PayFast, Yoco, Paystack or EFT integrations. Do not promise one in the client brief without budgeting the work.
Keep the client’s long-term team in the decision
A client with an internal Python team may prefer a Django handover even when the agency can deliver TypeScript. Evaluate who will add features, apply security fixes and handle operational problems after launch. The source purchase is only one part of that relationship.
If the client is choosing a new React and TypeScript product, Caylem can provide a shared baseline for the initial UI and connected journey. It does not migrate an existing Django system or replace the client’s domain expertise. Select the stack with the people who will maintain it.
A purchase library is different from a team SaaS
Pegasus’s paid team model and subscription documentation are relevant when a business sells workspaces to other companies. Inspect how team access and recurring billing fit the first customer’s requirements.
Caylem already supports a customer buying a source release and accessing it later. A staff portal, subscription service or approval tool needs its own data and access rules. Its shared storefront backend and deployment workflow are foundations for that work, not a claim that every business process is finished.

Choose Caylem if…

- You want a source release priced in rand and reusable under MIT.
- The existing purchase and library flow is relevant to the first delivery.

- Its provider setup, project license and handover conditions work for the engagement.

Should rand pricing determine the framework?
No. Compare the complete delivery and maintenance cost. A familiar stack can be more valuable than a difference in the one-time source price.
Can Pegasus be used by a South African team?
This comparison does not claim a country restriction on the code. The specific payment provider, contracting entity and source-license arrangement need separate assessment.
Does Caylem include a Django migration?
No. Existing users, records, authentication and billing need a planned migration. For an established Python product, compare incremental development with the cost of a new foundation.

Check the selected release and its current ZAR price before purchase. You receive the source under MIT. Hosting, service approval, custom development and maintenance are separate. Your source purchase does not approve your future business to accept payments.
